We discovered almost two years ago that my gas light doesn't work. This happened at the worth possible moment and we ended up hitchhiking on the Interstate in rural Georgia. Since then, I've used the odometer to figure out when to get gas.
This morning it read 202 miles since the last time I got gas. Typically I get gas between 220 and 240 miles. I figured I had an extra 10 minutes before my workshop so I might as well get gas. When I pulled up, the tank took 11.7 gallons of gas. My tank only fits 12 gallons!! I.E. I was 6 miles away from breaking down on 440.
After not driving my car for 3 weeks in this stifling summer heat, almost 2 gallons of gas evaporated!
To the little angel up there watching over me, thank you!
