New York City Birthday

I might be the luckiest person in the entire world. I have the chance to celebrate my birthday with friends in Nashville, family in New Jersey, and more friends in New York City. For one special night, Jess and Darryl (now referred to collectively as Jarryl) visited from London AND Jessie was visiting Corinne from Chicago, and Ali was in from New Orleans. The rest of the crew lives locally: Annie (and her coworkers), Tracy (and her coworkers), Lynn, Julia (and her very sweet and caring boyfriend), Matt, Liana (and her boyfriend), and several others all came together to celebrate the Jesstravaganza and my birthday. It was the first time many of us have seen each other since graduation and it was amazing to see everyone so grown up. People were talking about their jobs, their apartments, their life plans, and their adventures. What a special night! It was also really great to hear from others via facebook, email, texts, and phone calls. One of my students and her mom called to wish me a happy birthday. I feel very blessed.
