This week we are learning verbs. I like to do this using examples. I.E. "I run in place." What am I doing class? I taught the kids to always ask themselves.. "Can I do it?" If so, it is a verb.
My first example was "The dog runs fast." I told them to go word by word to see if they could ask themselves the right questions to figure out if it is a verb. So, I asked the class, "Can you dog?" They laughed and shouted no.
Next example was "Ms. W loves Brownie." (My made up cat that they love.) I ask the class what I should do. They shout "Ask yourself the question!" Great job class!
"Okay class, can you do Ms. W?!"
The answer is definitely no.
